Things that popped into my head this week.....

I answered Kelly's challenge to do a one minute plank this week. I executed it with ease. It left Kelly and Peyton stunned. Is that supposed to be tough? Or, did they simply have such low expectations for me?

I’m always curious about the people on a flight that immediately stand up upon landing....as if they think they will finally get to sprint off the plane, despite that not happening the last time or the time before that, or the time before that.

Remember when it seemed like UC and XU made the NCAA tournament every year? This will likely be five straight years without an appearance for UC and fifth in the last six without XU.

Good for Joey Votto. I'm pulling out my Blue Jays hat today. Genuinely good dude. Hell of a career. Still wants to play. The resentment some fans have for him is so incredibly odd.

Bengals tight ends remind me of Liam Neeson in Taken….each has a very particular set of skills. But in this case, not really enough of any one skill.

So proud of my high school radio station (WHJE-Carmel) for being named national H.S. radio station of the year. Thank you to Mr. Gregg, Mr. Schoeller and Mr. Espy for the guidance and experiences that prepared me for 40 years of broadcasting.

Ever stop and consider the decline in order, structure, rule, law, respect and kindness in recent years?

Shrimp, oysters, crab claws and grouper: Not a bad four days of eating with my dad in Southport, NC.

It bugs me when people declare something as a fact, when it's an opinion.

Untappd, the app where we record our beers, says I tried my 475th different beer this week. The Mountain Candy IPA from Sycamore Brewing in Charlotte. That was a pretty good one.

TV shows I miss from not all that long ago: Suits, Burn Notice, Graceland and White Collar.

A song I immediately reach to turn up the volume on: You Give Love A Bad Name, Bon Jovi.

I really enjoy doing my show. But during the day, I love creating the show, the rundown and piecing the puzzle together, one segment at a time.

It feels like Stuart Fairchild is on his way to locking up the final position player spot on the roster.

Do you remember a candy with a hard white edible stick that you’d lick and dip in pouches of different flavored powders? What was it called?

When I think of Chris Mortensen, I think of unassuming class and diligence. He was always about the story and facts, never about himself.

We are excited to attend Saturday night's single release party for Noah Smith at Madison Live in Covington. Also looking forward to seeing Blake Tyler and Sami Riggs.

I get a kick out of the hyperdrive post NFL combine reactions. You know what hyperdrive combine performance/reaction produces? John Ross.

I always enjoyed grabbing newspapers at different airports to read on the plane. No printed newspapers at the four airports I was in last week.

Nothing says going back to simpler times better than watching a rerun of The Andy Griffith Show.

I wonder if Josh Harrison will use his opt out on March 23 and seek another MLB opportunity? Or, head to Louisville, play close to home, and bide his time until a injury happens?

Wes Miller's team continues to experience the same issues...game, after game, after 30 games. That's a problem.

One of many positives of being out of town for a couple of days is realizing that everything else goes on just fine, without me having to be on top of it, comment on it, or post about it.

I've been exploring song lyrics. Men at Work mentioned a vegemite sandwich in their 1981 hit song Down Under. Vegemite is a spread sold in Australia. 22.7 million jars are manufactured every year. It's made from leftover brewers’ yeast extract (a by-product of beer manufacture) and various vegetable and spice additives. I'll pass.

Don't worry about things you don't care about.
